Men's Health, an Issue of Primary Care: Clinics in Office Practice
At a time when gender is so thoroughly examined in medicine, this issue is a must-have for all primary care and family physicians. Authors analyze how a variety of biological and social influences impact men’s health. Various diseases and disorders – cardiac, endocrine, cancer, prostate health, erectile dysfunction, etc. – are examined in order to identify ways to address health disparities and improve health outcomes. The interaction of being male with other significant, well-recognized health determinants like race and economic status are also discussed.
